In the era of 90s, the
development of the internet is not as fast as it is today. So it's no wonder, the
children in those days still like playing directly with their friends rather
than playing gadgets. And they also like watching 'parades' of their favorite
cartoon on television. Besides that in the era of the 90s there were so many
children's songs that were pleasant to hear. Moreover on television, there are
also a television program that specifically airings a children's songs.

The song entitle menabung, apanya
dong, and hello dangdut by Titiek Puspa, Saskia and Geofanny; cit cit cuit and
air by Joshua Suherman; anak gembala and libur tlah tiba by Tasya, and bolo
bolo by Tina Toon are an examples of children song in 90s. The songs had a
cheerful rhythm, so we were often sing them in many times. As time goes by, and
It is undeniable, lately children's songs have disappeared from the music scene
of the country. Eventually, Indonesia become lacks of young musicians. It
sounds miserable. Why did this happen in Indonesia? Where is the next
generation of young musicians? Shouldn't a child be introduced to things that
are indeed in accordance with their age?
There are several basic
reasons that can be a caused from the loss of children's songs today. The loss
of children's songs was caused by 'losing competitiveness' with the adult
songs. Nowadays, the children can easily hear adult songs. Unlike in long-ago
when I was a child, children's songs were often played on television or radio. There
are so many adult hits songs that can be easily accessed via the internet such
as digital media as well as in radio and television too. Another factor is
there are some children who engage to listen the adult hits songs that are
liked by their siblings or their parents. For example, I have ever heard my
younger cousin sing a piece of lyrics from an adult song entitled 'Lagi
Syantik' by Siti Badriah. I was surprised when I heard that, whereas she was
only three years old. I asked her mother, where she knew the song from. Then
his mother answered, that my younger cousin knew that song from a television
broadcast. From that case it can be said that, parents should be oversee their
children when they watch a television then tell them which things are good for
their age.

Reported by postkotanews.com which tells about how to revive children's songs, the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection in collaboration with Hana Midori's Music will hold the 2018 Indonesian Children's Voice Competition (LSAI). From the LSAI 2018 program, it is hoped that it can be recreated the children's songs again which are appropriate indeed for children to heard and sing. Parents also often have to invite their children to sing children's songs together. Thus, children's songs in Indonesia will continue to exist.
